Registration shouldn’t take more than 20 minutes or so -- and it will represent a good investment of your time if you are serious about finding the right relationship for you. We recommend completing the entire registration process in one sitting. If you find you need to stop in the middle, you’ll be able to continue it later. When you next login you will be automatically taken to the point at which you left.
After your registration and profile have been approved, you will be sent a confirmation email and you will instantly be able to receive matches – you will be able to select your matches from the proposed matches we send you.

What happens to my profile once I have registered?
Your profile comes to our dedicated team of personal matchmakers. It is then reviewed by hand and goes through the approval process. You will then be notified by email within 24 hours that your profile has been approved. Once this process has been completed you are then eligible to begin receiving matches from compatible members we have personally selected for you.
If for any reason your profile is not completed fully or some items of your profile are not suitable, then your profile will be declined and can NOT go live until the items are completed correctly and approved.
Only fully completed and approved profiles are eligible to receive matches.

How do I receive a match?
When we suggest matches, both members receive the match suggestion in their members' area, together with a "match alert" notification via email.
You then need to login and view your matches by clicking on the members in your "Suggested Matches" menu and click on their profile button or photo to view their full profile information and photos.
For each suggested match you then need to decide if you wish to either "accept" or "reject" the match.
For each "accepted" match you select, you need to ensure that you either have sufficient credits in your account to pay for the match, or deposit funds to submit the match.
Only once you have submitted the match will then appear in your "Pending Matches" menu. Once the other member has also accepted you as a match also, you are both able to see each others contact details you have given permission to be revealed, as well as being able to chat to each other on the instant messenger chat tool and send unlimited messages to each other.
Your password is the way the computer verifies that someone logging in is really you, so choose something that cannot be guessed by others.
Choose a password that you can remember readily, but which would be difficult for other people to find out and make up a word that only you know.
Do not use personal information in your password that someone else is likely to be able to figure out. Obviously, things like your name, phone number, and address are to be avoided. Even names of acquaintances and the like should try to be avoided.

As soon as you have registered with Xfactor MatchMaking you can login with your email address and password. If you prefer you can choose the option to use a username and password.
Click on the "Forgotten your login?" link in the top right hand corner box and submit your registered email address. We will then immediately send your login details to the email address you provided when registering. Please check your spam / junk folders as emails often go into this folder and be sure to add Xfactor MatchMaking to your "safe senders list" to prevent losing any emails from us.

How can I raise my chances of getting contacted by other members?
You should do the following to increase your chances of finding someone who could be really right for you:
- Set your search criteria as wide as realistically possible, especially when it comes to age or postcode. The limits you set for age and postcode apply not only to the recommended matches who appear on your list, but also to the members to whom you are recommended.
- Take the initiative and feel free to select as many matches you wish from the matches we send you.

At what point do I make a payment after I have received my matches you have sent me?
You can select as many matches as possible from the suggested matches we send you. When you view and scroll through your matches we have personally selected for you and select the matches you would like to accept, you will then be taken to the ‘buy matches’ area to deposit funds.
Once you have made the payment for your chosen matches, the matches are submitted and a match notification request is then sent to your chosen matches. They can view these suggested matches in their “suggested matches” menu.
If they accept you also as a match, but don't have sufficient credits, they will be taken to the payment page where they can purchase match credits.

How does the credit system work?
In order for a member to select to match with another member (irrelevant of whether the other member has matched with the user in question) they must have deposited sufficient credits into their account.
When a match is selected and confirmed by a member, the credits are immediately removed from the member's account. If a member tries to match with a user and has no credits in their account, they will be taken directly to the “Credits Purchase” page.
Important – If a member selects another member as a match and the other member rejects the match, the credits for the match must be reimbursed into the user’s account and an email notification is sent.

How do I know if they have chosen me as a match?
Once you have been accepted by your chosen matches, you will receive an email notification and a text message alert and your matches will show in the ‘my matches’ link on your profile.
A profile booth will appear on this page for all of your confirmed matches so that you can quickly and easily access their profile information to refresh your memory all about them before you contact them.

What is free on Xfactor MatchMaking and what is chargeable?

- How does Xfactor MatchMaking select potential matches for me?
Working on the basis of your personality profile, Xfactor MatchMaking selects potential matches for you. These are people who match and complement you with a particular balance of similarities and differences. It's then up to you to take a closer look at their profiles and to decide whom you wish to contact.
Your list of recommended matches is constantly updated as new members join Xfactor MatchMaking, so we will send you only personally selected matches we feel suitable for you, based on your profile information.

- What happens when I choose a match from the matches you have selected for me?
Once you have selected your matches, you can choose between 2 options. You can select either ‘pay as you go’ (pay per match) or ‘BUY matches packs’. As soon as your payment has been successfully processed, your match confirmation can then be submitted.

- If I accept someone who has chosen me as a match – where will this then go?
The other member who has accepted you as a match will be notified that you have agreed to match with them. This is then confirmed as a confirmed match and the other member's profile will then appear under your "confirmed matches" menu.
You are then able to view the other member's full profile and contact details (where applicable) as well as being able to send and read messages with them and chatting to them online via the instant messenger.
- What profile information can my matches see?
If you accepted another member as a match and they also accepted you as a match – both parties can then see each others full profile including all your pictures and the contact details which you have set in your profile to give permission to be revealed..
Please be aware, that if you set in your profile the tick box "make available to my matches" next to either your email address &/or your phone number, then these details will be revealed to all your matches. If neither of these are ticked, then the only way that your matches can contact you is via our fully secure internal messaging system on our website, or via the instant messenger. You are therefore fully in control of your own privacy using our system, so if you wish to NOT reveal your email address or phone number to other members, which is the default setting, then please do NOT tick these boxes.

- How much is it to purchase one match?
Your first match introduction is completely FREE.
After your first match, or if you wish to accept more than one match in the first instance, then you are required to purchase additional matches.
Each single match costs £10 or if you purchase a "match pack" (see below) then the price of each match can be reduced significantly.
Please note - match credits are put back onto your account in the event that any matches are not mutual.

Match Packs are a great way of buying matches in bulk as you basically receive a bigger discount the more matches you purchase in one transaction.
Considering that match credits NEVER EXPIRE it makes sense to buy a match pack when using our system as you can save a lot of money. We have 4 match packs to chose from, these are:
- Pack 1 = 3 matches = £25 (17% discount)
- Pack 2 = 6 matches = £45 (25% discount)
- Pack 3 = 10 matches = £60 (40% discount)
- Pack 4 = 15 matches = £75 (50% discount)

- What if I don’t use all of my match credits?
If your selected match rejects you as a match, your one match credit will automatically be credited back to your Xfactor account and will show as credits on yuour account for you to use again for future matches.
If you don’t use your match credits they will remain pending for use at anytime in the future as match credits never expire.
- How do I buy more matches / deposit more matches?
If you have used all your match credits and you accept another match from the suggested matches we have sent you, you will need to purchase more match credits to submit further matches.
You can either purchase single matches, or you may prefer to benefit from great discounts buying a match pack.
You can deposit match credits into your account at anytime you wish, you don't have to wait for further matches before topping up your match credits.
- What if I select a match the other member rejects me as a match?
If your selected match rejects you as a match, your match credit will automatically be credited back to your Xfactor MatchMaking account and will show as credits for you to use again for future matches.

- What if my pending match neither accepts or rejects me as a match?
We remind members of all their pending matches on a regular basis to encourage them to review all their matches as soon as possible, as we feel this is only fair on all members to know where they stand. However, naturally we are unable to force members to login and view their suggested matches.
If after our numerous reminders that your pending match still hasn't decided to either accept or reject you as a match, then after 31 days of your acceptance of the match, we will automatically mark the match as rejected and credit your match credits back onto your Xfactor account.

- How do I use my promotional voucher code?
Promotion codes are provided by Xfactor MatchMaking in the context of certain marketing activities.
We often run promotions in national media and TV. You may also have seen us featured in Fitness First, John Lewis magazines etc,. If you have a code which entitles you to £5 off a match, for example – you will need to simply enter this when you buy your matches in the promotional box entitled – Promotional code- this will automatically be deducted from your match / match pack cost. This can only be used on individual matches or match packs and can not be entered more than once.

When I login, all I get is the login page and cannot get any further.
This is probably because your browser does not accept cookies.
Xfactor MatchMaking makes use of small pieces of text data (known as cookies) to recognise your computer. Please activate the acceptance of cookies in your Internet browser, otherwise you will only be able to make limited use of Xfactor MatchMaking's features.
If you use Internet Explorer you can accept cookies under ‘Extras’, by clicking on the header ‘Internet options’ and then clicking on the tab ‘Data protection’ and activating cookies.
In Firefox click under ‘Extras’ on the header ‘Settings’. Under the heading ‘Data protection’ you will find the checkbox for ‘Accept cookies’.

How do I upload my photos to my profile?
During and after registration you can add upto 10 photos to you personal profile. To upload photos, go to ‘My profile’ and click on the "My Photos" menu option.
Your photo(s) should be in portrait format, supplied as a .jpg or .gif file and should not exceed 2 Mb in size.
Xfactor MatchMaking Customer Services check and apprrove all photos uploaded to profiles, normally within 24 hours.
The "show first" appears as the primary portrait photo of you on your profile. This is your main profile picture and can be changed at anytime. For our Members we offer a special service - if you don’t have any photos in a digital format, we can scan your photos for you – free of charge.

What are the guidelines for adding photos?
You should choose photos which you feel best capture you. Your primary photo should be a portrait shot, showing your face clearly, because this will be the main photo in your profile.
Please also bear the following in mind:
- The file size should not exceed 2 Mb
- The file should be saved as a .jpg or a .gif
If a photo contravenes our terms and conditions in some other respect and is inappropriate for public viewing, we retain the right to refuse the photo and it will not appear on your profile if one of the following applies:
- Photos showing children shown on their own
- Photos with sexual content/nudity
- Photos which violate copyright (for instance cartoon characters or celebrities)
- Photos with insulting, defamatory or disparaging content
- Photos of a commercial nature
- Photos featuring personal data (such as names and email addresses)

- How do I ‘release’ my photo to another member or exchange photos with him/her?
This is done automatically when there is a match. Your photo and full profile will be visible to all mutual matches. Every member can upload up to 10 photos to their profile and these will automatically be released to other members on a one-to-one basis whom you match with.
- Does Xfactor MatchMaking offer a photo-scanning service?
Yes Members can use our photo scanning service. We will scan up to three photos for you, free of charge. We will need:
1. Your full name, address, registered email and Xfactor MatchMaking username on the reverse of the photos.
2. A stamped, addressed envelope, if you would like the pictures returned to you.
PLEASE NOTE:
A) We can NOT return pictures unless a stamped address envelope is provided to us with the correct postage. We can not be held responsible if the postage value you provide is not the correct value and is not delivered to you.
B) We cannot return photos to members in other countries and all photos that we cannot return will be destroyed after a week unless a return envelope with sufficient postage is enclosed.

How can I Suspend my membership?
You can either suspend or delete your account.
Suspending an account leaves your account on our system, but stops you being sent any more suggested matches and also stops any existing matches you have being able to view your profile. You can still login to your account at anytime whilst it is suspended.
To suspend your profile you can login to your account and simply click on the link "click here to suspend your account". Once this has been clicked your profile status will then instantly update to show "your profile is inactive". You are able restore your account to "active" status at anytime by simply clicking the link "click here to make your account active" which will then change your state to show "your profile is inactive".
- Can I suspend my Membership - for instance, during my holidays?
If you are unlikely to login to Xfactor MatchMaking over an extended period (such as a holiday) it is advisable to hide your profile on a temporary basis. This will help prevent contact requests and messages from other members from sitting unseen and unanswered in your mailbox. You can hide your profile by going to the Member Status Control on the Members' Home page and click the link "click here to suspend my profile" which will then instantly update your status to "my profile is inactive".
Please note, unlike other dating services, there are NO MONTHLY FEES for using our service, so it will not cost you anything if you leave your account active and do not use it, although we wouldn't advise this for prolonged periods as it can result in lots of missed matches.

- How do I delete my profile?
Deleting your account completely removes it from our system and means that you will have to renter all your profile information again if you wish to use our service again. Please therefore be very careful when requesting your account to be deleted as all your history and messages and credits will be lost!
To delete your account please send us an email using our contact form with your registered username, email address and password so that we can confirm your id prior to deletion. We are unable to send any confirmation once your account has been deleted as you are also unable to login to your account once it has been deleted.

All payments for our service must be made online using a valid debit or credit card.
We also allow Paypal payments to be made if you have a live paypal account, so you won't need to enter your card details at all if using paypal.
For your security and peace of mind, all payments are processed in a fully secure and encrypted environment using 128K SSL. We do NOT store any of your card details so you are required to enter your card details each time you wish to make a payment.
- What payment cards do you accept?
Through our fully secure payment system, we can accept payment through the following credit and debit cards - VISA, Mastercard, Maestro, JCB, Solo, Switch, Amex, Electron and VISA Delta.

- What billing name appears on my bank statement?
Your card will be charged in the name of our company name - XfactorDates.com Ltd if you have enter your credit / debit card when making a payment.
If you have made payment using your paypal account, then Paypal will appear on your bank statement.
- Why do I sometimes receive suggested matches with members who do not correspond to my search criteria?
As we manually suggest all matches, we often find that another member is potentially very compatible with you, but who does not conform to your exact search criteria.
It’s worth being flexible and open to new possibilities. If a suggested match is maybe a few years older than your ‘ideal’ age, or lives 35 miles away as apposed to locally, they could still be the one for you.
- How can I order or cancel notifications and newsletters?
Login to your account and edit your settings in the members' homepage under the Member Status Control to turn on / off your mails for all the different options.
